video pokerThere are millions of video poker players and each one of them has a theory on how to win at video poker.  Actually, maybe there are a few that have enough money that they don’t care.  Unfortunately, for people like me, that simply is not the case.  We need to manage our funds so that we can maximize our time online in the casino.  After all, the computer will still be on our desks tomorrow, and the online casino gambling sites will be there available for our business.  So, our first and most important strategy is to never lose our heads when we are playing video poker.  You may not be able to shut down your computer with a winning total each time, but you can certainly walk away with no more than a pre-set limit for losses.

 

My second strategy is just something I’ve discovered after years of play.  When you are playing a video poker machine with “wild” cards such as Deuces Wild or Double Joker Poker, always play for the big prize.  You can take a three of a kind to stay in the game of Deuces Wild, but play for the jackpot in these games whenever possible.  Most of all love your sport and give it all you’ve got to give!

  • Play within your pre-set budget.  I am a proponent of cutting your losses to play another day.  Part of this philosophy is staying within a set of betting parameters which prevents unsupported losses.
  • Get off the cold machine.  There is no documented evidence that proves that cold machines will eventually get hot.  To my knowledge, that is nonsense.  If a video poker machine shuts you out eight consecutive times, say goodbye to that machine and try your fortune on another one.
  •  Hone your poker skills.  Make sure that you study the game of poker so that you have the ability to make prudent decisions during the game.
  • Know how to manage your game.  This includes when to shut the computer off, when to accelerate the number of coins you play and when to pull back on the bet in terms of money wagered.

 

If you follow these simple rules, your computer will always be your friend, and you’ll survive to play another round of video poker tomorrow.
