Hello, onling gambling freaks! Did you have a good Groundhog Day? Feeling ok with the six more weeks of winter thing? I know, I know, what terrible news, to know that you have at least a month and a half more of sitting on your fat asses hitting 21 in online blackjack or raking in the big bucks in online craps. Poor babies.
If you’re like me though, your significant other may be on to you which means you may have to find alternative sources of entertainment. You know, because not everybody feels good about letting their boyfriend or girlfriend sit in front of their computer twelve hours straight playing casino games. (I know, I know, it’s hard to believe.)
Well, the Academy Award nominations were revealed just yesterday and as always there were a few surprises. The most significant development this year of course was the expansion of the “Best Picture” category from five movies to ten, designed to increase interest. I commend their efforts but I don’t think they went far enough, really. How about introducing all new awards? Like I don’t know, “Best Acting Performance by an Online Poker Player?” This award would be given for the player who had jack crap in his hand and managed to bluff his way to a big cash prize despite having a pair of twos. We all saw “Rounders”, who says these guys aren’t as good of actors as Hollywood performers?
We have several weeks till the awards….I’m just riffing here, not sure where to take this idea. Let’s reconvene later this month when we’ve though of some more online gambling-related awards, fair? In the meantime, see you online. Or in the theater.
