If you thought you had heard all the stories about the tragic demise of the King of Pop, think again. This just in: in order to recoup some of his huge losses, Michael Jackson was apparently toying with the idea of starting an online casino. And why not? When you’ve recorded the greatest-selling album in the HISTORY of music, how difficult could it be to throw together a few casino games with dancing cat zombies?

That’s exactly what MJ was trying to do as the story goes. How sad is that, really. The guy had more money than any of us will ever know and he lost it all in a few blinks of an eye, much like a gambler whose luck has gone sour. The biggest difference is that most gamblers win some, they lose some, they win some, they lose some. They don’t typically lose hundreds of millions of dollars, become addicted to painkillers, see their skeletons paraded around in public to the point where they need to start an online casino modeled after a 25 year-old music video.
But hey, if you’re reading this, you know it’s not 1984. In 2009, you don’t need to know how to moonwalk. While it’s not as glamourous, you can become an overnight millionaire making money from online blackjack and other online casino games. Perhaps MJ’s name and his celebrity would have been enough to turn his casino into a big winner. Sadly, we’ll never know. We can only dream about logging on, hitting the jackpot, and hearing a disgruntled video bartender telling us to “Beat It.”
And we could go smile at the “Man in the Mirror” and make that…err, count that change.
